The UCD School of Economics is Ireland’s leading economics research group and is in the top 25% of institutions in Europe as ranked by Repec. Members of the school are actively working in a range of areas including banking and finance, behavioural economics, education, economic history, health, industrial organisation, labour markets and macroeconomics.
Members of the school have in recent years published in a wide variety of journals including the American Economic Review, Economic Theory, Industrial and Labor Relations Review, Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Economic Literature, Journal of International Economics, Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of Money Credit and Banking, Journal of Human Resources, Labour Economics, Public Choice, Quarterly Journal of Economics and Urban Studies. Members of the school have also published in such diverse fields as applied mathematics, biology, political science, public health, psychology and social history. Several important monographs have been published by school members particularly on Economic History in addition to numerous contributions to edited volumes.
Individual members of the school participate in research at the UCD Geary Institute and are associated with a range of networks and institutions including IZA (Bonn), CEPR (London) and the Institute for Fiscal Studies (London).
